Brenan Apartment
The street at night

This is the street at night. About 90 metres further down is Paseo de Los Tristes. There are several terrace bars, tapas bars and a good restaurant.

If you are not feeling energetic the Albaicin minibus goes by every 15 minutes which will take you to the high Albayzin where you can get off at interesting places such as Mirador de San Nicolas, The Sacromonte, San Miguel Bajo, Jardines de Triunfo, Gran Via etc. The minibus does a circular route and it takes you back to where you started in anout 20 minutes.

From this angle you can see the Generalife. The valley you can see on the left is the Val Paraiso or the Valley of Paradise. This probably is an exageration but it is very pleasant.

Brenan Apartment

This is the view from the teraza. The buildings in the centre are the Nasrid Palaces in the Alhambra.

No doubt, at some point during your visit to Granada you will look out of those windows and try and spot the place where you are staying.

This is the view from the street just behind the apartments and you can just about see the terraza of the apartment behind the roof on the right.

This photo was taken about 100 metres away from the Plateria which is a Peña de Flamenco (reputed to be the best one in Granada) .

This apartament is named after Gerald Brenan who was an Anglo/Irish writer who came to live in Spain just after the First World War. He wrote many fascinating booking about his experiences in Spain.

His book, South from Granada, is based on his life in the small village of Yegen in the Alpujarras mountains 60km from Granada. The Spanish Labyrinth is recomended if you want an insight into the Spanish Civil War.
